ABOUT SAHAR SMITH
Let Me Tell You My Story

WHERE I COME FROM
I was born in the city of Alexandria, Egypt, and moved to America with my family when I was just two years old. At the age of eight, I proudly became a naturalized U.S. citizen—on July 4th, 1976, no less—America’s bicentennial birthday. That same October, I made the most important decision of my life: I gave my heart to Jesus Christ. Just a few years later, in 1980, my world changed forever when my mother passed away in a car accident, just before my twelfth birthday. As the oldest and only daughter with three younger brothers, I suddenly found myself stepping into a role of much responsibility. It was in those tender, challenging years that I began to learn not only how to care for myself, but how to be a source of strength for others.
In 1988, I joined the Army and began serving in the intelligence field. Not long after, I got married and was deployed to the Middle East during the Gulf War as part of Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm. I completed my military service in July of 1991, and soon after, I became a mother to two wonderful children—who are now raising families of their own. My husband and I have been married for nearly 35 years, and for the past 23 of those years, Chapel Springs Church has been our spiritual home.
In 2014, I joined Capitol Hill Prayer Partners and began learning how to faithfully pray over our elected officials. Since then, and especially beginning with President Trump’s 2016 run for office, the Lord has led me to become more involved with my local government. I'm currently serving my second year as the Recording Secretary for the Bull Run Republican Women’s Club. I've had the privilege of working to protect election integrity as both a poll watcher and an election officer.
I'm also a proud Colson Fellow, a Heritage Action Sentinel, and a volunteer with the Museum of the Bible in Washington, D.C. My love for Jesus and people has taken me on mission trips around the world, and those experiences have only deepened my appreciation for how truly unique and special America is. I carry a strong desire to rekindle in our nation the love of God, family, and country—especially the Christian heritage upon which our founding fathers built this great land.
As a grandmother of ten, I care deeply about what is being taught in our schools and what is withheld from parents. I believe parents deserve full transparency, the freedom to choose their children’s schools, and the right to be informed. I support protecting our children from confusing gender ideologies, ensuring safety and fairness for girls and women in sports and private spaces, and upholding our law enforcement officers. As a naturalized citizen, I believe in legal immigration with secure borders. Additionally, as member of the armed services, I value our veterans and their service to our great nation.
As a pro-life advocate, I’ve participated in both national and Virginia Marches for Life, visited legislators' offices, and made countless calls to support life-affirming legislation. Now, I’ve been called to take the next step and serve in public office. It would be my honor to represent you as your District 21 delegate in the Virginia House of Delegates.
I’m asking for your time, your financial support, your vote in the June 17th primary and most importantly your prayers. Together, we can make a lasting difference.
Thank you so much!
